Does Empire offer introductory teams for 3rd-5th grade girls?

YES! We have Empire Juniors teams that are designed to give younger girls an opportunity to play club volleyball for an affordable price, for a shorter duration than a typical club season. The primary focus of these teams is player development, with modified rules and playing time policies.  The ultimate goal is skill development and the experience and excitement of Club Volleyball while learning the value of team sports. 

Will they still need to attend a Tryout for Empire Juniors Teams?

YES! Attending and participating in the Tryout is an important part of the process. Trying out helps instill confidence and prepare them for  future tryouts at the next level of club volleyball. The tryout for this group is low pressure, the goal being to create Juniors teams based on an age, skill, and attitude matrix.

How many  Juniors teams will Empire offer for the 3rd-5th grade girls?

Empire anticipates having  4-6 Empire Juniors teams for girls under age eleven, for the 2024 Club Season. Juniors teams usually consist of 8-10 players per team.

Does everyone make a  Juniors team?

Juniors teams are available to players that registered and attended the 2024 Juniors Tryout until available roster spots are filled.

EMPIRE JUNIORS LEAGUE for the 2024 Season

Empire will play in the WCVBA Juniors League and Tournaments for the 2024 Season. The League has modified rules to support the development of these younger athletes and the teams. 

• League and Tournaments start mid-January 2024 with the last tournament mid May 2024.  Juniors Practice will start in November and conclude in May

• Empire Juniors Teams will have 5-6 Juniors League games for the season. 

• Juniors Tournaments will require some local travel to a site in the Bay Area.

• Tournament sites often are in Livermore, Norcal Volleyball, or in Walnut Creek at Vibe Volleyball, or  similar sites in the Bay Area. 

• Juniors Tournament typically start at 8:00 am and are scheduled to end by 4:00pm at the latest but most likely earlier (depending on number of teams)

• Tournaments are played on either a Saturday or a Sunday.

• Tournaments are typically 1x a month.

• This division uses timed matches:
  35 minutes each match, 15 minutes each set, 2 sets make a match. 

• Four match minimum is guaranteed at each tournament. 

• Tournaments  start with pool play, and end in bracket play. 

• Uniforms are worn and are included with your Juniors 2024 Team Registration.
