Empire Volleyball Club is proud to announce Empire Juniors!!
In the Fall of 2017 Empire Volleyball Club started something new for the North Bay area. "Empire Juniors." Empire Juniors is for players ages 7-13 (girls and boys) who are looking to get introduction to the game of volleyball.
Leading up the Empire Juniors program will be Coach Daryl Kapis who comes to Empire Volleyball Club with 25 years of coaching experience at all levels from junior high to college. Coach Kapis recently came to the North Bay after serving as Head Volleyball Coach at Hawaii Pacific University for ten years. Coach Kapis was also one of the lead coaches at Jammers Volleyball Club, and assisted in the running of Jammer Juniors which was instrumental in the teaching young volleyball players in Honolulu.
Assisting within the program will be other current Empire Volleyball Club coaches, and players who are giving back to the sport they love.
ln the first year Empire Juniors came to Ukiah, Petaluma, Sonoma, Santa Rosa, and Rohnert Park nearly selling out in each city it ran a program.
In 2019 Empire Juniors will be expanding in Sebastopol, and Novato, while also making returning visits to above mentioned cities.
Each program will either consist of seven/eight sessions, lasting 1 hour and 20/30, or will be in a four day-three hour camp format. Each of the sessions will start with a general body awareness warm-up and stretching sessions, and will have a focus of two/three volleyball skills for the day, and game play.
Teaching proper basic volleyball techniques and having fun is the goal of the program. Empire VBC will be using modified lighter volleyballs to allow maximum success per individual. All individuals will start at Level I training, and will move up to Level II upon satisfactory proficiency of each of the basic skills. Level II training will focus on more fast-paced and game-like drills.
The cost of the program is $165-$180.00 for the eight sessions.
Walk Up Costs are $25.00 for the 7/8 session clinics
Walk up Costs are $50.00 for the 4 session/3 hour clnics.
Each session will be limited to 25-30 participants, and a 9:1 player to coach ratio, maximizing the player experience.
